Students Earn First Place at the STMA
Congratulations to the Penn State turf students who finished in first place in the 2-year division and second place in 4-year division at the Sports Turf Managers Association Student Challenge.
2018 Collegiate Turf Bowl on the Golf Channel
Although Penn State didn’t take home the cup this year, we did manage to get two teams into the Top 10 of this year’s Collegiate Turf Bowl. Additionally, the students, along with Dr. McGraw, were featured on the Golf Channel’s Morning Drive. Check out the interview below.
Penn State Turf Students Compete at the STMA
This year's national Sports Turf Manager's Association annual conference was recently held in Fort Worth, TX. In addition to professors, Turfgrass staff, and Beaver Stadium grounds personnel, Penn State sent 12 students; 8 from the 4-year turf program and 4 two-year turf students. These students traveled to the event to either compete in the SAFE Foundation's Student Challenge or receive a SAFE Foundation Scholarship or both.

Golf Course Turfgrass Management 2-Year Program alum Jordan Carbone of Erin, Ontario, Canada, recently received the MacCurrach Award in the GCSAA Scholars Competition.
