Hairy Bittercress: Making an early appearance in Pennsylvania lawn

Weeds are popping up early this year and one winter annual broadleaf weed, hairy bittercress, is already flowering in lawns, grounds, and parks.  This diminutive plant is becoming more common in many areas of Pennsylvania and can be a headache for grounds managers and lawn care specialist because of its early flowering and highly efficient means of dissemination and propagation.
