Having driven to Vail and back to Denver in one day, I woke up this morning for an early morning visit at Cherry Hill Country Club where I was shooting an upcoming ad for the Penn State Golf Course Turfgrass Management Program. The ad highlights alumnus Mike Burke, Superintendent at the Cherry Hills Country Club; and will be included in the September issue of various magazines as well as the Official Tournament Program for the upcoming BMW Championship.

Following my sunrise visit to Cherry Hill Country Club, I made my way to Denver Country Club where I was visiting my intern working with Doug Brooks, Penn State Golf Course Turfgrass Management program alumus. Having completed a pre-internship at Pine Valley last year, Jack was getting his second year of experience on the golf course at Denver Country Club. At the course, he experienced various side projects and agronomic practices, including topdressing, mowing, and irrigation.

At Denver Country Club, Doug Brooks and Ben Getman have a great internship lined up next 2.5 months. Jack’s going to experience a host of various activities to help prepare him for his career after graduation.
