You can feel the buzz at Oak Hill Country Club. So many workers putting in the extra hours to ensure the East Course is in Championship condition, and everything is right on schedule.
“I think in the springtime, we were really beefed up and trying to get ready. We’re at a point where we’re reaching kind of maintenance mode. We have everything kind of dialed in where we need to. It’s just getting to the point where it’s prep week before the tournament where we’re just turning screws on the place,” said Jeff Corcoran, manager of golf course and grounds at Oak Hill.
Right now, everything looks to be in great condition. Greens and hazards are being groomed to perfection. Red flags, just off the 18th green, mark the site of the grandstand – one of many large structures that will begin to go up in the next two weeks.
